Tristan White

Tristan White is Head of Technology at Tangible, an independent digital agency in Sydney. His role is hands-on, from technical scoping and architecture to writing and reviewing code.
What Tristan does at Tangible
Tristan takes part in discovery and technical scoping, translating client requirements into technical specifications. He determines technical architecture and contributes to platform choice, weighing approaches against project requirements, budgets and timelines. His involvement continues into the build: on website design and development projects, his role commonly includes backend development and implementation. This allows technical decisions to be considered alongside the strategy behind the work, rather than in isolation.
Tristan writes and reviews code, particularly around complex integrations, project foundations and critical implementations. He works through difficult technical problems with the development team and works directly with client-side IT teams and third-party vendors where integrations require it. He is closely involved in Tangible's enterprise-level work and in smaller projects where his expertise is required.
The Sydney Cricket Ground interactive maps
Tristan personally built the Sydney Cricket Ground interactive maps. There were three map experiences: a 360-degree seat view, a 3D facilities map with search filtering and a 3D precinct map. The maps had to integrate into the SCG's existing website and technology stack.
Tristan investigated and identified the scripts and technical approach needed for the 3D behaviour, developed the maps, and produced the integration package and documentation for that integration.
Technical expertise
Tristan's web development and technical architecture expertise extends into enterprise application development, including custom application functionality and integrations with other systems. WordPress is another area of his expertise and one of the platforms Tangible builds on.
